1st and 23rd February 2019
Stadt de France
If you’re a big fan of rugby or even if you’re indifferent about the game with an odd shaped ball, then you’ve probably heard of one of the biggest events in the rugby calendar, the Six Nations Championships.
Every year, the Six Nations Rugby Championships takes place throughout the month of February and into early March and features the home nations of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland, but also incoudes France who have involved in the championships since the competition’s inception in 1883, and for years it was called the Five Nations Championships, until Italy joined the championships in the year 2000, making it, yes you’ve guessed it, the Six Nations Championships.
The competition is played at the various grounds of the home nations, and each year the venue for each tie is swapped. For example Ireland will host England at their home stadium, the Aviva Stadium in Dublin, on the 2nd February 2019. Next year, the same tie switches to England’s home ground, the famous, and some may the home of Rugby, Twickenham, situated in West London.
Switching our attention to when and where the French will be playing this year, and in particular their home matches at the Stadt de France, their home matches are as follows:
- Friday, 1st February, 8:00pm – France vs Wales
- Saturday, 23rd February, 2:15pm – France vs Scotland
These will be two fiercely contested matches and well worth seeing.
